- Cristóbal Salas
Cristóbal is a Lead Investment Officer, Equity and Mezzanine Finance Investments Team at IDB Invest, which he joined in 2018. He is responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing investment structures that include venture capital. Before joining the IDB Group, he worked as Investment Director at Latin American Partners (LAP). He was on the investment team at LAP México, where he acquired experience in creating, structuring and monitoring investments in various sectors in the region, including transportation, energy, water and sanitation, agriculture and telecommunications. He previously held the position of Vice President at Stephens Cori Capital Advisors. He has extensive experience in investment banking, Latin American markets and management of equity investment funds in the transportation and telecommunications sectors. Cristóbal earned a master’s degree in business administration from George Mason University (USA) and a professional degree in business administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey - ITESM (Mexico).
- Daichi Tsuchihashi
Daichi is IDB Invest's Telecommunications, Media and Technology Investment Officer (TMT). He joined in 2016 and is responsible for the origination and structuring of financing operations with development impact for companies in the TMT sector in different countries of Latin America and Caribbean. Before joining the IDB Group, Daichi was a Credit Analyst and Market Researcher at Mizuho Bank. He was involved in US corporate client monitoring and loan sponsorship operations in the energy and TMT sector. In addition, he led M&A and research projects for Japanese corporate clients in Latin America. Daichi holds a Master of Laws from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University (USA) and an undergraduate degree in International Studies from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.
- Daniel Arévalo
Daniel is an Investment Officer, Tourism at IDB Invest, which he joined in 2019. He is responsible for developing new businesses and structuring sustainable projects by applying financial solutions that enable clients of that sector to obtain funds for developing projects, through project finance or corporate loans. Before joining the IDB Group, Daniel worked for the Inter-American Corporation for Infrastructure Financing (CIFI, in Spanish), where he led infrastructure and energy transactions, both for specific purpose vehicles with non-recourse financing and at the corporate level with revolving facilities and factoring operations. He has experience in the energy, transportation, tourism, and manufacturing sectors, among others. Daniel earned a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. (USA) and a professional degree in economics from Xavier University in Cincinnati (USA).
- Daniela Valdivia Llerena
Daniela is a consultant on the economic team of the Country Department Andean Group (CAN) at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). She holds a degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) and a Master's in Economics from the same university. She has worked as a consultant for NGOs in Peru in key areas such as health and education. Additionally, she worked at PROINVERSIÓN and has been part of multidisciplinary teams in consulting projects for the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru. Currently, she is involved in research related to mining, education, and natural resources and has presented her work at the Congress of the Peruvian Economic Association (PEA).
- David Brogeras
David leads the Digital Transformation Advisory Services team at IDB Invest, which he joined in 2021. His role involves developing advisory and knowledge services that address the challenges of digital transformation in the private sector, and its impact on sustainability, through the incorporation of technological solutions supported by platforms, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Throughout his career, David has been a partner at two of the world's leading consulting companies, specializing in digital transformation. Additionally, he is an entrepreneur and co-founder of two technology companies. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has experience in navigating changing and complex business environments in Europe and Latin America, consistently achieving notable team objectives.
- David Caja Carreras
David Caja Carreras leads NTT Data's Telecommunications and Media sector for Iberia and Latin America. Since joining the company in 2000, he has held various executive positions in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America, helping clients in their major transformation processes through consulting in strategy, operations, and evolution towards new technologies. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa.

David Román is the editor of IDB Invest's blog Negocios Sostenibles. He was previously a director of communications in Banco Santander, and his career as a news correspondent before that includes stints in China (with Xinhua Newswires and Agencia Efe of Spain), Spain (Wall Street Journal) and Singapore (Bloomberg News).
- David Rosenblatt
David Rosenblatt is the Regional Economic Adviser for the Caribbean Country Department at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Prior to this position, David worked for 27 years at the World Bank, where he divided his career between assignments in the Latin America and Caribbean region and the World Bank Chief Economist’s office. David holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
- Déborah Martínez
Déborah Martínez is a Senior Behavioral Economics Fellow at the IDB Research Department. She holds a Master's in Economics from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from The University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to joining the IDB Behavioral Economics Group, she worked as a Senior Associate at ideas42 where she applied behavioral economics to financial decision-making in Latin America, and charitable giving in the US.
- Denesh Baboolal
Denesh Baboolal is a Development Effectiveness Officer in the Development Effectiveness Division stationed in the Jamaica Hub. He works on transactions in the Small and Island (S&I) Countries, ensuring that IDB Invest operations promote social and economic benefits. Denesh has also worked as an Operations Consultant in the Country Office of Trinidad and Tobago, the Gender Diversity Division and IDB Lab. He has a degree and master’s in economics from the University of West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
- Denis Leduc
Denis is an Investment Consultant, Advisory Services and Blended Finance Team at IDB Invest, which he joined in 2019. He is responsible for providing active support to private corporations and public entities for the Development of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects. Before joining the IDB Group, Denis worked for more than three years as manager of the Infrastructure and PPP team at Deloitte in Colombia, where he participated in the financial structuring of several social infrastructure and transportation projects. He also worked as Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Officer at Fluxys, a Belgian industrial group focused on energy storage and transportation infrastructure. Denis has extensive experience in the structuring and assessment of infrastructure projects, particularly in Colombia and Peru, and in the rest of the Latin American region as well. Denis earned a master’s degree in economics from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, and a master’s degree in financial management from Vlerick Business School (both in Belgium).
- Diana Carrillo Sosa
Diana Carrillo Sosa is an Analyst in Debt Capital Markets and Structured Finance at IDB Invest. Before joining IDB Invest she worked in private equity, venture capital, and impact investing. She defines her professional goal as developing and supporting solutions that contribute to climate change mitigation and social justice. Diana earned a master’s degree in psychology of Economic Life from the London School of Economics and Political Science and has a undergraduate degree in finance from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
