Project scope and objective

The objective of the investment is to increase access to financing for Mexican medium sized firms that lack the necessary ability and capacity to tap traditional long-term sources of funding.

To support this objective, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IIC”) is proposing investing in Indigo 2 PD (the “Fund”), a private debt fund that will provide debt financing to Mexican medium sized companies. IIC will invest up to the lesser of MXN450 million or 20% of the Fund. Additionally, IIC will add strategic value to the Fund's team by participating on the Fund’s shareholder committee, by promoting the use of the Women’s Empowerment Tool at the Fund and portfolio levels, by providing trainings to the Fund Manager and portfolio companies on energy efficiency topics, and by having available up to three energy audits for potential portfolio companies.

The results of the ESDD, including any identified gaps are described in the Environmental and Social Review Summary (ESRS) provided below. For projects approved as of 2016, any gaps with respect to IDB Invest's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy at the time of the ESDD are addressed in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) presented below, to comply with the date mentioned above.
