Project scope and objective
The transaction consists of an A/B financing of up to US$46.8 million for the construction of a 43.2 MW wind farm located in Tilarán, Guanacaste.
The project is expected to generate a significant development impact by increasing the installed capacity of renewable energy and contributing to the diversification of Costa Rica’s energy matrix through the addition of wind power. It will also help reduce CO₂ emissions and create new jobs during the construction phase.

Early disclosure
For projects with high environmental or social risk an Environmental and Social Strategy (ESS) is prepared early on during the project appraisal and prior to carrying out the environmental and social due diligence (ESDD).
