Project scope and objective

This transaction is a combined long-term and medium-term corporate loan of up to US$23 million to Grupo Desarrollador de Parques Industriales S.A. ("GDPI" or the "Company"). GDPI is part of the Guerrero Group, and its purpose is to develop the Green Park Industrial Park in the Coyol area on the outskirts of Alajuela.

The proposed financing is for the construction of several industrial buildings within this park, which will increase the availability of industrial facilities in the country. This will attract Direct Foreign Investment, mainly focused on life sciences, technology, and shared services clusters, and aligned with the global trend of "Near-shoring", where Costa Rica is a significant regional player.

The results of the ESDD, including any identified gaps are described in the Environmental and Social Review Summary (ESRS) provided below. For projects approved as of 2016, any gaps with respect to IDB Invest's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy at the time of the ESDD are addressed in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) presented below, to comply with the date mentioned above.
