Project scope and objective
The objective of the transaction is to provide financing to Global Bank Corporation ("Global Bank" or the "Bank") through a senior secured A/B loan facility of up to US$175 million, consisting of an IDB Invest A Loan of up to US$75 million and approximately US$100 million through a B Loan mobilized by IDB Invest. The transaction seeks to strengthen the Bank’s access to long-term funding and support the origination of sub-loans in Panama, primarily targeting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (“SMEs”), including women-led businesses, as well as social housing in Panama. In addition, the transaction may incorporate advisory services focused on accelerating the growth of strategic segments and strengthening portfolio governance and risk management frameworks.
