Project scope and objective

The proposed transaction with Agrícola Cerro Prieto S.A.C. and Qali Fruits S.A.C. (together, the “Company”), one of Peru’s leading agricultural exporters, consists of a secured senior financing facility of up to US$200 million (the “Financing”), with a tenor of up to 10 years, including up to 2 years of grace period. The Financing will be funded in equal parts by IDB Invest, BBVA Perú, and Interbank. In the case of IDB Invest, its participation will be equally split between its own-account resources and managed funds provided by TADAC. The proceeds will finance ACP’s 2026 investment plan in Trujillo, Peru, which includes: (i) agricultural investments, including new plantations and the renewal of selected crops; (ii) the refinancing of the outstanding balance of the existing club deal (the “Project”); and (iii) investments and improvements to the packing plant.

The Project will contribute to: (i) increasing Peruvian agricultural exports; (ii) strengthening the productivity, competitiveness, and resilience of the agribusiness sector, particularly in the blueberry segment; and (iii) supporting job creation and retention in rural areas.

Environmental and social review

The ESDD will confirm the project E&S categorization and assess the project with respect to the client requirements in IDB Invest Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy. The results of the ESDD, including any identified gaps are described in the Environmental and Social Review Summary (ESRS) provided below. For projects approved as of 2016, any gaps with respect to IDB Invest's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy at the time of the ESDD are addressed in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) presented below, to comply with the date mentioned above.
