Milagros Rivas Saiz is Managing Director and Division Chief of Advisory Services, at IDB Invest, which she joined in 2021. She is responsible for leading the Climate Change, Gender and Inclusion, SME Development, Digitalization, and Public-Private Partnerships areas. Before joining the IDB Group, Milagros worked for the International Finance Corporation as Global Head of Strategy Director and Global Head of Advisory Services, a position in which she helped develop highly sustainable projects and open markets to private investment. Previously, she was an Executive Committee member of Acciona Energía. Milagros has extensive experience in consulting, from her work at McKinsey & Co. Milagros earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain).

Carlos is Director and Head of Agribusiness (a.i.) at IDB Invest. He is responsible for the strategy, business plan, client management, and structuring of projects for the agribusiness and forestry sector in Latin America and the Caribbean in order to drive development impact while providing financial and non-financial solutions to clients in the food value chain and forestry sectors.

Before joining the IDB Group, he held senior positions in the investment and development banking areas. He was a Structured Finance Principal Investment Officer at the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and an Investment Banking Vice President at BBVA. While holding these positions, he led and managed over 50 corporate finance, project finance and debt capital market transactions.

Carlos earned a master’s degree in finance from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administracion (IESA) and a professional degree in economics from the Universidad Central de Venezuela.

David Brogeras, Director and Head of Digital Transformation at IDB Invest, is an experienced professional in the field of digital transformation. His work focuses on addressing challenges within the private sector by integrating digital platforms, data analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions.

Before joining IDB Invest, David held managing director positions at renowned global consulting firms specializing in digital transformation. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found two technology start-ups. His expertise spans various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and financial inclusion. Through his publications, he sheds light on the potential of the Latin American and Caribbean region to enhance competitiveness via innovative digital solutions.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, his role at IDB Invest involves leading digital transformation initiatives and partnership programs that significantly impact private sector development. He also focuses on enabling businesses to extract more value from their technology investments, improving their Digital Business Journeys, and achieving their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
