IDB Invest and Mexican food company Naturasol co-financed a pilot program in Yucatán to help small-scale beekeepers recover from severe weather events, improve productivity, and build climate resilience. IDB Invest conducted an impact study to assess the effects of the program. 

As summarized in this DEBrief, the results show that by providing beekeepers with a combination of basic inputs, training, and, most importantly, queen bees, they increased their number of hives, honey production, and yields. They also adopted improved hive management practices, boosting resilience.
