Project scope and objective
La presente operación (el “Proyecto”) consiste en la suscripción por hasta US$20 millones por parte de BID Invest de un Bono Verde emitido por el Grupo Royal America por hasta US$30 millones, a un plazo de hasta siete años, y la movilización de recursos para completar el costo total del proyecto. Royal America utilizará los recursos del Bono para financiar la compra e importación de maquinaria eléctricos para su posterior alquiler y venta.
Royal América es un grupo regional que empezó en Chile, y que ahora opera también en Colombia y Ecuador, dedicado al alquiler de maquinaria eléctrica utilizados en centros de distribución y movimiento de carga industrial, con más de 30 años de experiencia. A través de este Proyecto, BID Invest podrá contribuir al desarrollo de la movilidad eléctrica dentro del sector logístico en Chile y Colombia, impactando en sectores como; alimentos, ventas minoristas, agrícola, industrial, entre otros.

Environmental and social review
IDB Invest conducts an environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) commensurate with the nature, scale, and stage of the project, and with its level of environmental and social risks and impacts. The ESDD will confirm the project E&S categorization and assess the project with respect to the client requirements in IDB Invest Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy. The results of the ESDD, including any identified gaps are described in the Environmental and Social Review Summary (ESRS) provided below. For projects approved as of 2016, any gaps with respect to IDB Invest's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy at the time of the ESDD are addressed in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) presented below, to comply with the date mentioned above.
