• IDB Invest won Silver in three categories: People’s Choice, Green Event and Environmental Good Event

IDB Invest has been awarded in the 13th edition of the Eventex Awards, a global event and experiential marketing recognition program celebrating excellence in event planning and execution. Sustainability Week 2022, IDB Invest’s flagship event, secured the Silver Prize in three categories: People's Choice, Green Event, and Environmental Good Event.

Under the theme "From Thinkers to Doers," Sustainability Week 2022 in Miami brought together more than 500 onsite global business and government leaders and over 8,700 people connected online from 41 countries to discuss the most pressing topics on sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean, including climate action, sustainable value chains, digital transformation, just transition and financial innovation.

Addressing Sustainability Week 2022, one of the Eventex Awards juries said: “Impressive numbers, great job in reaching a net-zero event. Walking the talk.”

The 13th edition of Eventex Awards received as many as 761 entries from 49 countries and included many Fortune 500 brands and companies such as Qatar Airways, Budweiser, Porsche, Netflix, SkyShowtime, Audi, PwC, RedBull, Rolls Royce, as well as global events such as the FIFA World Cup Inauguration and Closing Ceremony, and the G20 Summit, among many others.

This achievement highlights IDB Invest's commitment to sustainability and showcases the success of Sustainability Week 2022 as a carbon-neutral event by offsetting 167 tons of CO2 emissions through the certified Guanare’ Afforestation project in Uruguay. Additionally, it was a zero-waste event by recycling 95% of event material with local organizations and by donating 250lb (113kg) of food to local charities.

The next edition of Sustainability Week is set for 2024.
