WASHINGTON – IDB Invest will finance Banco CMF to support the growth of its small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) portfolio in Argentina.
This operation aims to expand access to credit for a key segment that generates 50% of formal employment in the country, contributing to productive development and improved business competitiveness.
The transaction consists of an unsecured A/B loan, including an A tranche of up to $45 million financed by IDB Invest, and a B tranche of approximately $20 million to be provided by institutional investors.
In addition to financing, IDB Invest will provide technical advisory services to strengthen Banco CMF’s non-financial service offerings, with a special emphasis on its QORP digital platform, designed to improve financial management and promote digitalization among SMEs. This support will include training in financial planning, automation, and the use of technological tools, helping modernize the SME segment. The operation will also support CMF with a Corporate Governance action plan aligned with international best practices.
