Diego Brenes holds the position of Director of Sustainability at LAAD. LAAD provides financing to small and medium-sized companies in the agricultural and agribusiness sectors in 15 Latin American countries.

Prior to his work with LAAD, he was a consultant on sustainable financing, impact investing, and small business supply chain risk management. From 2003 to 2011, he served as Chief Credit Officer and Vice President of Credit Origination at Root Capital, a non-profit organization focused on providing financing and financial training to small producers in Latin America and Africa.

Before working fully in the sustainability and impact investing sector, he held various investment positions in private equity and banking in Central America.
