Cristobal Salas is a Principal Investment Officer in IDB Invest's Equity & Mezzanine Division. He leads the origination, structuring, execution, and portfolio management of equity, mezzanine, and other hybrid capital solutions supporting private sector development across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Before joining IDB Invest, he held leadership and investment positions in private equity, investment banking, and project finance, where he advised corporations, investors, and infrastructure sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and structured financing transactions. Over more than two decades in finance, he has worked across a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, digital economy, financial services, telecommunications, renewable energy, and logistics.

Based in Washington, D.C., Mr. Salas works closely with companies, fund managers, and strategic investors to catalyze private investment and foster sustainable growth throughout the region.
