Americas Partnership Platform

| Mission & Vision

Launched during the inaugural Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity Leaders’ Summit at the White House on November 3, 2023, IDB Invest and DFC established the Americas Partnership Platform to help bridge the investment gap for countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Working together to leverage the strength of both institutions, IDB Invest and DFC seek to foster economic integration in the region; bolster inclusive, sustainable economic growth; and strengthen regional competitiveness for the benefit of the people of the region.
 

As part of the Platform and their increased cooperation, IDB Invest and DFC have established two specific initiatives: one focused on supporting cooperation on large-scale, transformational infrastructure transactions and a co-financing framework to provide a more streamlined approach for smaller-scale transactions.

These initiatives represent a new model for cooperation among our institutions to encourage private sector investment that meets high standards, while promoting financial inclusion, creating jobs, and improving the livelihoods of individuals from all backgrounds, including those in underserved communities. The initiatives will also seek opportunities to address climate change through mitigation, adaptation, and resilience, as well as through clean and renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The Co-Financing Framework Agreement provides for a more streamlined process through which IDB Invest and DFC can work together to provide full financing solutions for strategic, smaller scale transactions in the region where commercial bank financing may be limited. The program is available for high impact transactions in all sectors and countries in which DFC and IDB Invest jointly operate.
