Mr. Scriven is the CEO of IDB Invest, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group’s private sector institution. IDB Invest is a multilateral development bank focused on serving its clients and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Latin America and the Caribbean.
A dual Argentine/British citizen, Mr. Scriven was previously Vice President of Corporate Risk and Sustainability at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in addition to other leadership positions. Before joining the IFC, Mr. Scriven was Chief Financial Officer of Banco Hipotecario in Argentina.
During the past two decades, he has concentrated his efforts on promoting the private sector in development. Mr. Scriven holds a Master´s degree in Finance from Universidad del Centro de Estudios Macroeconómicos of Argentina, and a degree in Business Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina.
Marisela Alvarenga is a global financial leader with over two decades of experience spanning private banking, capital markets, and multilateral development institutions. Recognized for her strategic vision and execution, she has built a distinguished career driving sustainable finance, financial innovation, and growth across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
Currently serving as Managing Director and Division Chief of Financial Institutions at IDB Invest—the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group—Marisela shapes the institution’s strategic engagement with banks, fintechs, insurers, cooperatives and other financial actors across LAC. She plays a key role in positioning the financial sector as a catalyst for development, championing innovative financing structures and market-building initiatives that mobilize private capital at scale. Her leadership has helped mainstream green, social, and sustainable finance across the region, with a strong emphasis on deepening financial health, supporting women-led businesses, and advancing climate-resilient investments.
Prior to joining the IDB Group, Marisela held senior leadership roles in corporate and investment banking at Citibank and Banco Cuscatlán, including Regional Director for Corporate Finance in Central America. In these roles, she led cross-border transactions and built regional platforms that strengthened access to finance for corporates and institutional clients.
Marisela holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the School of Economics and Business, and an MBA from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, complemented by executive studies at the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU) in Germany. She has also completed specialized programs in Impact Investing and Sustainable Finance from leading institutions in the United Kingdom.
Fluent in the language of both markets and mission, Marisela is a sought-after voice on the intersection of finance, sustainability, and innovation. She is passionate about scaling solutions that advance financial health, climate resilience, and inclusive development in emerging markets.
Sergio is a recognized banking leader with extensive experience in running both established and new, global and local banking businesses. Sergio held senior roles in Wholesale and Investment Banking across Argentina, Spain and the US. With deep technical expertise in areas such as Funding, Treasury, Debt Capital Markets, Structured & Project Finance, Credit and Distribution, Sergio was the CEO for Santander Argentina and led the Corporate Banking group at Santander New York. Sergio holds a master’s in finance from CEMA, Argentina, and is a true believer in emotional intelligence and is passionate about leading people and teams.
Since 2009, Michael has served as President and CEO of Accion, a global nonprofit on a mission to create a fair and inclusive economy for the 1.6 billion people who are failed by the global financial system. He brings 30 years of extensive international banking and public service leadership to his role, including more than 12 years at Citigroup, where he led international franchise management as well as communications, philanthropy, and human resources. During his tenure as CEO, Michael has built Accion into a leading early-stage investor in fintech for inclusion and an expert in the digital transformation of financial service providers. He has cultivated several partnerships that strengthen Accion’s work to develop and scale cheaper, more accessible, and customer-friendly financial solutions for underserved people globally.
Sophie is the CEO of CGAP, an international partnership, housed in the World Bank Group, dedicated to promoting inclusive financial ecosystems that enable a green, resilient, and equitable world for all. Sophie has dedicated her professional career to the development of inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystems around the world, with more than twenty years of experience at the World Bank, where she has held different positions, including Director of Strategy and Operations at the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of the World Bank and Director for the Caribbean region. Previously, Sophie worked as an expert in financial sector development and stability in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Among others, she led various Financial Sector Assessment Programs (FSAPs) in various countries in Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America, and she was the Manager who led the World Bank's response to banking crises in various countries of the European Union during the global financial crisis of 2008-2011. Prior to joining the World Bank, Sophie worked in JP Morgan's Financial Institutions (FIG) team on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in Europe, and for Halcrow Fox and Associates' Infrastructure team. Sophie holds a Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE).
Andrés Vásquez is the CEO and one of the founding members of Nequi, Colombia’s leading digital financial platform.
With over 25 years of experience in the financial sector, Andrés has dedicated his career to exploring the transformative power of digital innovation in banking.
A visionary leader, Andrés combines deep industry knowledge with a relentless drive to challenge traditional models. He played a key role in turning Nequi into one of Latin America’s most successful fintech stories and continues to evolve its strategy to position it as a true game changer in the region’s financial ecosystem.
Andrés holds a degree in Administrative Engineering from the Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia, where he also studied Marketing and International Business. He later completed executive programs in Strategic Management at Universidad de los Andes and ‘Leaders Who Matter’ at Stanford University.
Passionate about innovation and technology, Systems Engineer with mastery in Digital Transformation, MIT certifications in Innovation and Artificial Intelligence and specialization in Business Transformation by INCAE. Currently strengthening strategic vision with studies at ADEN on Business Transformation with AI. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector — 15 years in banking and more than 10 in microfinance at Fundación Génesis Empresarial — leading projects that integrate data analytics, creativity and development of solutions to drive financial inclusion and digital evolution.
Carla leads the Technical Assistance Component of LocfundNext, which has contributed to the implementation of more than 120 projects across 14 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has over 14 years of experience in strengthening financial inclusion institutions, particularly in Digital Transformation and Governance.
Most recently, she led a regional Financial Inclusion and Digital Transformation program funded by IDB Lab, supporting more than 30 MFIs in the region. She also participated in the conceptualization and design of the study “Perspectives on Digital Transformation and Fintech in Financial Inclusion” (published by IDB Lab), and she currently leads the Artificial Intelligence Diagnostic in MFIs within the LocfundNext portfolio.
She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Columbia University in New York, and a degree in finance and international relations from the Externado University of Colombia, specializing in risk and information economics from the Universidad de los Andes. She has an interdisciplinary professional career spanning more than fifteen years in development banking, inclusion and financial education, green finance, sustainability, and economic research, which allows her to successfully lead teams in the implementation of multisectoral projects of national scale with innovative solutions. Since August 2022, she has directed Banca de las Oportunidades (Opportunities Bank), a national government program that implements Colombia's inclusion and financial education policy. In this position, Paola has led the agenda of resilient inclusive finance, open finance and data, and financial well-being. She has also worked on the design of strategies to promote financing for small-scale productive units.

Jo Ann Barefoot is CEO & Co-founder of the Alliance for Innovative Regulation (AIR), a nonprofit organization working globally to promote a more fair, inclusive and resilient financial system by helping adapt financial regulation for the digital age. She hosts the global podcast show Barefoot Innovation and is Senior Fellow Emerita at the Harvard Kennedy School Center for Business & Government. She has been Deputy Comptroller of the Currency, partner at KPMG, Co-Chairman of Treliant Risk Advisors, and a staff member at the U.S. Senate Banking Committee.
Jo Ann currently serves on the board of Oportun. She is a member of advisory bodies for FinRegLab and the Milken Institute. She was formerly on the board of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and FINRA, chaired the boards of the Financial Health Network and FinRegLab, and served on the CFPB’s inaugural Consumer Advisory Board. She co-founded the regtech firm, Hummingbird.

Oscar Bazoberry is a seasoned entrepreneur and innovator with over 35 years of experience in technology, finance, and operations. He is the creator of the Community Value Chain (CvC™) model, which leverages AI and blockchain to enhance productivity, liquidity, and sustainability. Through his leadership at World Data Inc. (WDI), he has pioneered tokenization of future agricultural harvests, enabling farmers to access credit and liquidity ahead of production. His work bridges FinTech innovation and sustainable development, integrating verifiable credentials, smart contracts, and digital tokens.
Mercedes Bidart is CEO and co-founder of Quipu. Argentinian based in Colombia, studied Political Science at the University of Buenos Aires and a Master's Degree in Cities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as a Fulbright candidate. Before starting Quipu, Mercedes worked at CIPPEC and TECHO in Argentina and in the town hall of New York in the USA. Mercedes is a fellow of Cartier Women’s Initiative.
He is currently the General Superintendent of Securities of Costa Rica. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho University. He has 20 years of work experience as a financial regulator and supervisor at the Central Bank of Costa Rica, the General Superintendency of Securities, and the National Council for the Supervision of the Financial System of Costa Rica. He was a free trade agreement negotiator at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and is a professor at the University of Costa Rica and Lead University.
David Brogeras, Director and Head of Digital Transformation at IDB Invest, is an experienced professional in the field of digital transformation. His work focuses on addressing challenges within the private sector by integrating digital platforms, data analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions.
Before joining IDB Invest, David held managing director positions at renowned global consulting firms specializing in digital transformation. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found two technology start-ups. His expertise spans various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and financial inclusion. Through his publications, he sheds light on the potential of the Latin American and Caribbean region to enhance competitiveness via innovative digital solutions.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, his role at IDB Invest involves leading digital transformation initiatives and partnership programs that significantly impact private sector development. He also focuses on enabling businesses to extract more value from their technology investments, improving their Digital Business Journeys, and achieving their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
César Buenadicha is the Head ai of the Ecosystem Building and Acceleration Division at BID Lab, where he leads an international team of specialists in identifying and co-creating high-impact innovations and ventures across Latin America and the Caribbean. His work focuses on strengthening innovation ecosystems through financing, strategic connections, and key regional events.
César holds a Ph.D. in Economics as well as a dual degree in Law and Business Administration and Economics.
He has extensive experience in economic development and entrepreneurship. For ten years, he worked in Honduras, El Salvador, and Bolivia, leading productive development and employment programs in collaboration with Spanish and Dutch cooperation agencies. Previously, he gained experience in the private sector as a lawyer at the prestigious international law firm Clifford Chance in Madrid.

As CEO of Revolut Colombia since 2025, Diego is spearheading the launch of the global financial super-app's full banking operations, slated for 2026, after successfully securing the company's official banking license. This role is the culmination of an 18+ year career dedicated to democratizing access to credit and building scalable, customer-centric products that create tangible social and economic impact. This mission was previously demonstrated when, as cofounder of KLYM, he successfully scaled the company to provide innovative, tech-driven working capital solutions to businesses across Latin America, cementing his expertise in leveraging advanced technology to solve real-world financial challenges.
Mynor Leonel Cajas del Valle serves as Regional Manager of Corporate Risk, Investments, and ESG at Grupo Promerica, leading the management and supervision of corporate credit risks in nine Central American countries, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador. With over 29 years of experience in banking and more than 20 years of specialized risk experience, he has consolidated a career focused on strengthening the financial resilience and sustainability of the regional banking system. In addition to his executive work, Mynor participates as an international speaker and mentor, sharing best practices on risk management, financial innovation, and sustainability, contributing to capacity building in the region.
Elena Calatayud Hernando holds a degree in Economics from the University of Alcalá de Henares and has a Master's in the Executive Development Program from the Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid. She has over 25 years of experience in the financial sector, having served as CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) at Banco Santander Spain for nearly 10 years. She was also General Director of Supervision at the National Banking and Securities Commission in Mexico, where she developed the current cybersecurity regulations for banks and fintechs.
Elena served at Amazon Web Services as a leader in Innovation and Transformation for the financial industry. Currently, she is a Consult Partner for Kyndryl Mexico, supporting financial institutions in defining and executing their technology strategy through specialized consulting that integrates cloud, data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity—ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. She is an Independent Board Member of MUFG Bank, Avanza Sólido, ASOFOM, and AFICO.
Andres Calderon brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, implementing risk tools in multiple lending institutions with a focus on consumer, microfinance, retail, and MSMEs. Andrés is a specialist in score development, portfolio risk management, operational risk control, and collections. He began his career at Citibank in the Latin America Region, where he focused on credit scoring, portfolio growth, collection strategy, and risk forecasting management. Before joining Accion, he served as Mortgage Collections Head in Bank Colmena, and Consumer and SME banking Portfolio Risk Manager for Bank Colpatria in Colombia. Since joining Accion in 2007, he has worked to build a comprehensive risk framework that integrates best practices and innovative risk management tools with the complexities inherent to providing credit to informal clients and support financial inclusion through alternative scoring tools and Advanced data analytics. Andrés has been extensively involved in developing and implementing credit, operational and market risk initiatives with Accion partners worldwide with primary focus in inclusive finance, particularly targeting underserved segments, dedicated to identifying opportunities to expand financial access for vulnerable populations, especially women, ensuring that the models and processes implemented are responsive to their economic realities and specific needs.
Eric Campos Morgan is the current Executive President (CEO) of BAC Guatemala, a position he has held since 2017 within the Grupo Financiero BAC.
With more than twenty years of leadership in the banking sector, he has held key executive roles as Director of Operations (COO) and Director of Innovation (CINO) for Central America and Panama.
Furthermore, I was member of the Directive Council of BAC operations, contributing to strategic decision-making and regional alignment.
He began his career at BAC in 2000 as Commercial Manager at BAC San José, Costa Rica, leading initiatives in corporate banking and for SMEs. Between 2003 and 2009, I was in charge of developing new products and services for these segments. Recognized as one of Bloomberg's 100 Innovators in Latin America (2024), Filiberto is a visionary leader with over 20 years of experience in financial services, specializing in data science, consumer credit, and marketing. He is the founder and co-CEO of Aviva, a Mexico City-based startup revolutionizing unsecured credit for low-income individuals, with a $13 billion addressable market and over 70 million underserved people in Mexico. Previously, he was Chief Growth Officer at Konfío (2016-2022), leading key teams and contributing to its growth to a $1.3 billion valuation.
Erick Chacón is President of the Fintech Ibero-America Alliance, which brings together fintech chambers and associations from 17 countries. In this role, he advances public–private collaboration, common standards, interoperability, and greater financial inclusion. An INCAE MBA with a Fintech specialization from Wharton, he has led initiatives in digital banking, e-money, wallets, remittances, digital credit, insurtech, and Bitcoin-based services. He is also the founder and President of ASAFINTECH and the CEO of PaySea, from where he promotes talent, investment, and technological adoption across the region.
An executive with extensive experience in sustainability, financial inclusion, digital transformation, and social impact. He is Assistant Manager of Stakeholder Management at Caja Los Héroes and Executive Director of CIPEM, leading innovation and social development projects in Chile. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Adolfo Ibáñez University and a master's degree in Marketing, focused on generating strategic and social value through collaboration with public and private stakeholders. He has held strategic roles in companies in the financial, transportation, and manufacturing sectors in Chile.
Magdalena Coronel brings more than 15 years of angel investing, venture capital and investment banking experience both in the United States and Latin America. Magdalena started her career as a Venture Capital Analyst with Prosperitas Capital Partners, a fund manager investing in early-stage tech companies located in Uruguay. Subsequently, she became VentureStart Program Manager at the Regional Technology Alliance in Sacramento, California to later transition to Director with the Institute of the Americas, where she was responsible for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program. Since 2018 she was a member of Houlihan Lokey, advising clients in valuation matters, until she joined IDB Lab as a Senior Investment Officer, leading the direct equity arm of the Lab, in December 2020. Magdalena assumed the role of Chief Investment Officer of IDB Lab in September 2021. Magdalena also co-founded a 35-member angel investor network with a focus on deal flow from Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay, and was a Business Fellow from Partners of the Americas and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2011. Ms. Coronel holds a B.A. in Economics from Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay, and a Master’s degree in Business and Administration from NYU Stern.
Héctor de la Garza Ramos is the founder and CEO of E Factor Network, a FINTECH company with 15 years of experience in the market that offers a SaaS platform for electronic factoring operations and has provided liquidity worth over $50 billion to more than 20,000 Mexican and international companies. Before founding the company in 2009, he held key roles in supply chain and business development at Nacional Financiera, as well as Grupo Financiero Banorte, Bancomext, and Banca Afirme. He holds a degree in Economics from ITESM, a Master's degree in Administration from EGADE, and studied at the University of Oviedo, Spain.
Carla is an international consultant with more than 30 years of experience in sustainable development. She is currently Deputy Director of the Swiss BASE foundation, where she promotes innovative projects in sustainable financing, including financing the circular economy, sustainable energy, resilience and adaptation, and sustainable mobility and urban planning at a global level.
Simone di Castri is Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Cambridge SupTech Lab and CEO of Digital Transformation Solutions, where he leads initiatives at the intersection of technology, data, and public policy to modernise financial authorities and public institutions globally. With two decades of experience across more than 60 countries, Simone has advised central banks, regulators, and multilateral organisations on digital transformation, data governance, and AI-driven supervision. His work focuses on designing scalable digital public infrastructure and suptech solutions that strengthen governance, accountability, and inclusion in the financial sector.
José has over 25 years of experience in international banking and emerging markets, focused on unbanked or underserved populations. Currently at IFC, he leads advisory services, product development and strategy for the Banking on Women business line in ELAC. He also supports investment transactions with focus on Gender Finance and Financial Inclusion which resulted in a women portfolio increase from $600M to about $4.5b. Jose leads projects across two continents with a focus on SME, gender finance, silver economy, and inclusion. Jose supports banks in the structuring and launching of value propositions focus on sales approach, credit underwriting processes and non-financial services for middle market, SME, and micro segments. Terence Gallagher is a British national, based in Washington. He began his career as an investment banker at Citigroup, where he spent 9 years supporting emerging market governments and corporates access the international capital markets, working from London, New York and São Paulo. Since 1999, he has dedicated himself to Microfinance, initially working as a consultant for diverse organizations such as Accion International, Development Alternatives Incorporated, and PlaNet Finance. He joined the IFC in 2008 in Rio de Janeiro where he spent 10 years as a Specialist for Micro and Small Enterprise Finance, responsible for investments in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. As of April 2018, Terence moved to Washington to join IDB Invest as head of Financial Inclusion. He has a Masters degrees in Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK.

She also led the creation of the gender-smart banking model "Avanza Mujer” and the issuance of two Gender Social Bonds, positioning BancoSol as a pioneer in Bolivia and the only privately-owned bank in Latin America with two consecutive issuances of gender-exclusive bonds. Previously, she held strategic positions for over two decades in Ecuador’s leading financial group.
Cristóbal Gómez Gutiérrez is a Panamanian and Costa Rican lawyer and mediator with four master's degrees: in Banking Law, Economic Analysis of Law, Financial Administration, and Fintech and Innovation, from studies completed in Panama, France, Belgium, and Italy. He is the author of a book, podcasts, and academic publications on topics ranging from ethics and humanism in finance to international arbitration in Administrative Law. He served for 13 years at the Superintendency of Banks of Panama, where he is currently Innovation Manager and Director in charge of Strategy and Transformation. He is also a member of the Fintech Group of the Central American Council of Superintendents of Banks, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions; he is Coordinator of the Financial Innovation Hub of Panama; and was the first Technical Secretary of the Financial Coordination Council. Sebastián González Saldarriaga, a dual citizen of Colombia and Spain, serves as Chief of the Private Sector, Synergies, and Trade Unit (PST) in the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Sector for Productivity, Trade, and Innovation (PTI). He leads strategic platforms and initiatives to strengthen private sector engagement, advance the regional trade agenda, and foster synergies between the public and private sectors. He holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Geography from the University of Miami. Pedro E. Gutiérrez Q. is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, specializing in blockchain and digital finance innovation. He currently serves as Head of Partnerships at LNET and Business Development Head for Latin America at Bitunix. He has led institutional adoption initiatives of Web3 technologies, digital identity programs, and tokenization projects, as well as financial infrastructure modernization efforts across the region. Previously, he held leadership roles as Regional Director at CoinEx and Peersyst Technology, and was also a board member of the NEM Foundation. Diego Herrera is a Principal Specialist at the Connectivity, Markets, and Finance Division at the Inter-American Development Bank -IDB-. Besides his lending activities, which focus on productive development financing and policy-based loans to promote regulatory reform in Latin America and the Caribbean, he serves as the Regulation Focus Group Coordinator at the IDB. He leads the financial regulation agenda from a sectoral perspective. He leads the regional policy dialogue for the financial sector, as well as the FintechLAC initiative, which fosters digital finance in the region, among other activities. Before his tenure at IDB, he was Superintendent for Market Risk and Integrity and Market Risk Chief at the Colombian financial regulator. He also led the risk function at securities firms in Colombia, among other roles in the private sector. Diego is a Master of Science in Risk Management from New York University-Stern School of Business and earned MA and BA degrees in Economics from Universidad del Rosario in Colombia.

Ms. Claudia Pichardo holds a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, she has completed various specialized training programs in capital markets, regulatory compliance, risk management, among others.
She has extensive experience in financial regulation, capital markets, financial inclusion and innovation, green taxonomies, anti-money laundering, and counter-terrorism financing. She is widely regarded as a leading expert in securities markets in the Dominican Republic.
Currently, she serves as Director of the Directorate of Regulation and Innovation at the Superintendency of the Securities Market of the Dominican Republic, with over 10 years of legal and regulatory practice in the financial sector. Roman Proskalovich is the Lead of the Emergent Money Systems workstream within the Cambridge Digital Assets Programme at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance. He is developing an open-access, web-based dashboard that tracks emerging forms of digital money, including stablecoins and central bank digital currencies. Throughout 2022, he led a team that researched the cryptoasset sector in Latin America and the Caribbean to gain insights into its maturity, challenges, regulatory environment, and future direction. Prior to joining the CCAF, Roman worked across industry, academia, and the public sector, contributing to projects on foreign direct investment promotion, digital transformation of the economy, financial product and service development, and monetary stabilisation techniques for digital assets.
Laura is a Colombian attorney with over a decade of experience in corporate finance and cross-border transactions across Latin America and the Caribbean. She currently serves as Legal Counsel at IDB Invest, where she advises on complex investment operations in emerging markets. Prior to joining IDB Invest, she worked in private practice in Colombia, focusing on banking and finance. Laura holds a Master of International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University, a specialization in Capital Markets Law, and a Law Degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
Arturo Rodríguez has more than 15 years of experience working on sustainability issues. He is currently Relationship Manager for Iberoamerica at the IFRS Foundation. In this role, Arturo leads efforts in the region to generate awareness among companies, investors, regulators and other actors in the capital markets on the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB, in English). Currently Arturo is based in Mexico City.

Belline Santana, Head of the Banking Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Brazil. Mr. Santana is economist. Joined the Brazilian Central Bank in 1998. Coordinated teams responsible for prudential supervision of banks, financial conglomerates and specialized teams in corporate governance, internal controls and operational risk. Worked in the development of risk-based supervision processes and the implementation of the Basel II and III framework in Brazil. He has participated in several working groups of BCBS, ASBA and FSB. He has also worked in IMF and UN technical assistance programs, for the development of risk-based supervision and consolidated supervision in developing countries. He is Vice Chairman of ASBA, Member of the Supervisory Cooperation Group (SCG) – BIS and member of the fiscal council of the employee pension fund of the Central Bank of Brazil.

Carlos Santos is Salvadoran, specialist in sustainability and green finance. Graduated in Business Administration from Universidad Anáhuac México, with studies in Sustainable Business Management at Universidad George Washington. He holds a Certification in Green Finance and another in Biodiversity from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, where he is currently studying the Master in Leadership in Sustainable Finance with a social focus.
He has led social and financial initiatives in Mexico and Central America, and currently works as Sustainability Manager at Banco Bolivariano in Ecuador, where he promoted the issuance of the first blue bond with objective incentives and works on the structure of the country's first biodiversity bond.
Shelly Shetty is a Managing Director and the head of Asia and Americas Sovereigns at Fitch Ratings, based in New York. She has over 20 years of experience in assessing sovereign risk.
She is responsible for overseeing ratings and leading the research initiative on sovereigns in the Americas and Asia. The lead sovereign analyst covering Brazil, Shelly is also the chief spokesperson for the group on Latin American sovereign ratings. She is also a member of rating committees for sovereigns throughout the world, particularly emerging markets.
Prior to joining Fitch in 2000, Shelly was an assistant vice president for the sovereign group at Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Co. (DCR), where she covered countries in Central Europe, Africa, and Asia.

He has over 30 years of experience across 40 countries, first as a technologist leading global innovation programs and, since 2004, applying technology for development. He pioneered shared mobile infrastructure in Africa and Asia as Managing Director of Monitise Emerging Markets, co-founded BeyondBranches in Nigeria (now Interswitch Financial Inclusion Services), and later served as VP of Digital at Accion, where he led the Mastercard–Accion Partnership reaching more than 30 million people and helped design the $152.5 million Accion Digital Transformation Fund. More recently, he co-founded EMpact in West Africa and Latin America and launched soilnet.ai to apply IoT and AI in agriculture. He also serves on the board of Annapurna Finance in India.
