For instance, a group of mega-companies—so-called multilatinas—have capitalized on internationalization opportunities in the region and have seen significant increases in their investments and productivity as a result. A study by the Boston Consulting Group finds these enterprises showed outstanding performance, with 5.2 percent annual growth from 2008 to 2016, compared to 1.8 percent among their peers.
