IDB Invest finances Banco CMF to increase credit to medium-sized companies in Argentina

IDB Invest, the private sector institution of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, has provided an unsecured revolving loan for $15 million to Banco CMF to increase access to financing for medium-sized companies in Argentina.

The financing from IDB Invest supports Banco CMF in its strategy to expand its portfolio of medium-sized companies with traditional financial products and incorporate new products that add value to its clients. The operation allows Banco CMF to promote the cross-selling of a range of transactional services, such as financial, trade and consulting services.

The project also includes opportunities for improvement in Banco CMF's environmental, social, health and safety management system. Based on a diagnosis based on its quality standards, IDB Invest has developed an action plan that reinforces the bank's mechanisms for the identification and evaluation of impact and risks.

IDB Invest financing has a tenor of 7 years, which is infrequent in the marketplace. This allows Banco CMF to better manage its liquidity risk and grant adequate financing conditions to medium-sized companies.
