Biography

Aitor Ezcurra is the Chief Investment Officer (a.i.) of IDB Invest. He is responsible for delivering developmental impact through the commercial and investment strategy of the institution, providing financial and non-financial solutions (including loans, trade finance, guarantees, capital markets, equity, mezzanine, blended finance, and technical assistance, amongst others) to clients in the financial, corporate, infrastructure and energy sectors. He manages a team of more than 200 professionals in 23 countries and invests around US$9 billion each year with IDB Invest’s own and third-party capital, supervising a total portfolio of more than US$18 billion.

Before assuming his current role, he served as the Managing Director of the Corporates Division of IDB Invest since 2016, where he was responsible for managing relationships with clients and originating and structuring projects in the Agribusiness, Manufacturing, Tourism and Telecommunications sectors.

Prior to joining IDB Invest, he was Investment Officer in the Agribusiness team at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He also worked for Rabobank in Netherlands, Argentina, Mexico, and USA for 16 years supporting the financial needs of the food and agribusiness sector in various countries. During his time at Rabobank, Aitor was a member of the Board of Directors for two agricultural producer finance entities in the US and Mexico.

He holds a BA from Saint Louis University and an MBA from George Washington University.
