IDB Invest Procurement

IDB Invest handles all procurement of goods and services in compliance with the IDB Invest Procurement Manual. Procurement activities at IDB Invest include corporate procurement, for the organization’s own internal and institutional needs, and procurement of services to support IDB Invest in the design, preparation, supervision, and evaluation of its financial and non-financial transactions.

IDB Invest does not undertake procurement for the implementation of the projects that finances. Procurement conducted directly by IDB Invest Clients with their own resources, including those disbursed by IDB Invest and its co-financiers, is conducted directly by the client following its own procedures. Procurement opportunities with IDB Invest clients are not listed below and must be consulted directly with the respective client.

Principles and Standards

The Manual establishes the principles of Transparency, Equality, Integrity and Value for Money aimed at achieving Economy and Efficiency that must guide all procurement activities. IDB Invest employees carry out procurement activities in accordance with the guiding principles in the Manual, as well as the rules contained in other applicable policies and procedures, including the IDB Invest Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, the  IDB Invest Access to Information Policy, the IDB Group Personal Data Privacy Policy, the IDB Invest Integrity Framework and the IDB Invest Operating Policy.

Transparency

IDB Invest operates under a presumption in favor of disclosure with respect to all the information it produces and receives, including information pertaining to Procurement activities, subject to the exceptions to disclosure established in the Access to Information Policy.

Integrity

All Vendors participating in a Procurement process and all Suppliers or Consulting Firms are required to adhere to the highest ethical and integrity standards, in accordance with IDB Invest’s Integrity Framework.

Personal Data Protection and Privacy

IDB Invest is committed to the protection and privacy of personal data, in line with international standards and best practices. This includes personal data that is processed on behalf of IDB Invest by suppliers and consulting firms. IDB Invest conducts vendor due diligence to determine eligibility to process personal data on behalf of IDB Invest, and personal data is only transferred to suppliers and consulting firms in accordance with the IDB Group Personal Data Privacy Policy.
