Escopo e objetivo do projeto
El proyecto segunda calzada Popayán – Santander de Quilichao (“El Proyecto”) está localizado en el centro y norte del departamento del Cauca, Colombia. El Proyecto, de 76 kilómetros de largo, inicia al norte de la población de Popayán, atraviesa las poblaciones de Río Blanco, El Cairo, Piendamó, Tunía, Pescador y Mondomo para llegar finalmente a Santander de Quilichao.
El proyecto se encuentra dividido en 4 Unidades Funcionales (UF): UF1 Popayán – Piendamó de 19.23 km de longitud; UF2 Piendamó – Pescador de 21.89 km de largo; UF3 Pescador – Mondomo de 15.45 km de extensión; y UF 4 Mondomo- Santander de Quilichao de 19.52 km de longitud.
Una vez terminado, El Proyecto mejorará la movilidad y competitividad del sur occidente colombiano, así como la conectividad con el centro del país, con Ecuador y el sur del continente.
La participación de la CII ayudará a complementar el financiamiento a largo plazo, en colaboración con bancos comerciales internacionales y bancos locales que aportan recursos en dólares y pesos colombianos.
